The excellence of the Milton educational experience includes outstanding athletics. Milton Academy’s athletics program engages and challenges athletes from novices to aspiring college and professional players. The key to the program’s success is skillful coaching and team building. Milton teams—strong forces on fields, tracks, courts, rinks, slopes and in pools—play in the highly competitive Independent School League (ISL) and against other non-league independent boarding schools. Milton coaches are leaders and mentors; their dedication and experience accelerates athletes’ skill development and focuses their energy on high-level collaboration with teammates. The Milton tradition has long honored participation and acheivement in athletics. In fact, the athletic experience complements the academic experience: core values at Milton are hard work, careful preparation, risk-taking, teamwork, and winning or losing with grace and dignity. Milton stresses developing technical and tactical skills and fosters discipline, accountability, self-esteem, commitment and courage—extraordinary personal development that translates into lifetime success.
